The onshore wind industry in 2015 had, it's fair to say, a turbulent time. Lack of National Government support to the industry came under much scrutiny and debate, with the industry unfortunately not receiving the required means to meet objectives and targets.
Some of these were set out by the current Conservative Government with the promise of the “Greenest Government ever”. Needless to say, this has not exactly been the case but VG Consulting is delighted to inform that even within these challenging times, our clients are successful with planning approvals for both small to medium, and larger scale turbines and developments. VG Consulting has most recently (March 2016) seen two such success stories within the industry.
We had consent granted for a wind turbine in South Lanarkshire, with a blade tip height of 48.7m and planning consent granted for a 900 kW turbine through planning committee.
The success of both approvals and hopefully the subsequent build of them, are firmly rooted in the experience and knowledge of our team. Many planning and wind energy developers may well have fell foul of the challenges that both of these projects faced. It’s encouraging that our focussed team can address the planning objectives and offer hope to clients that their project can be successful.
We are all unsure what lies ahead for the industry and support from the Government, but what we do know is that even in challenging times, our team are more than capable of obtaining planning approval.
